Susan Nelson, MD
Dr. Susan Nelson is the medical director of Physician Health Centers, five occupational medicine facilities serving all of Miami-Dade and northern Monroe and southern Broward counties. She graduated with her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been a practicing physician for 30 years.
But her most significant accomplishment has been being a tireless advocate for epilepsy awareness since her daughter was diagnosed almost 15 years ago. She is active in all Epilepsy Alliance’s fundraising events, along with her daughter Anna, and has created WWO FL, a nonprofit supporting epilepsy awareness, with all proceeds going directly to Epilepsy Alliance Florida. This year they were recognized as top fundraisers for both Miami-Dade and Broward counties. She continues to advocate for her daughter and all afflicted with this terrible disease. She, with her daughter, has traveled all over the country, tried countless medications and treatments, conventional and some not, multiple brain surgeries, and will not stop until a cure is found!
